About Us

At New Beginnings, we offer three (3) major programs: (1) an All-Day Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten program; (2) an Afterschool remediation and enrichment Program; and (3) an academic and recreational summer camp. Through these programs, we provide a number of services aimed at meeting the needs and improving the lives of the children and families we serve. These specific services include the following:

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

• Before School Program- The before-school program operates from 6:00 A.M.-9:00 A.M. for school-age children 5-15. Transportation is provided to the schools for the children.
• After-school Program- 2:30 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. for school-age children. The children receive tutoring, remediation, enrichment, help with homework, and recreational activities. Snacks and transportation are provided.
• Reading and math tutoring programs for school-age children through the America Reads and America Counts federal initiatives.
• Daycare, pre-school, and pre-kindergarten/Kindergarten programs from 6:00 A.M.-7:00 P.M. for children ages 1-5. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided.
• Weekly Spanish and Karate classes
• Christmas Assistance
• An Academic and Recreational Summer Camp – The summer camp begins when the first school system ends and it runs until all the children have returned to school for the next academic year. The hours for summer camp are 6:00 A.M. -7:00 P.M. Academic and recreational field trips are provided at no charge to parents.
• Community Service – Children ages 10-15 are responsible for organizing two (2) neighborhood clean-up projects during the summer.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At New Beginnings, we offer a safe and secure environment for your child to learn, grow, and play. We believe that children learn through exploration and play as well as structure and routine. We promote self-esteem through respect, understanding, and compassion. We have structured programs designed to be responsive to the needs of each individual child.

Our programs are specifically designed to dramatically increase the academic achievement, self-esteem and life opportunities of children. This is achieved by increasing their mastery of the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics; raising children’s academic expectations; enhancing children’s social-emotional development; and promoting positive relationships between home and school.
