New Beginnings has three (3) Preschool programs: (a) Our Preschool program for 3-year old children and (b) Our Prekindergarten program for 4-year old children and (c) our Kindergarten Program for 5-year old children. New Beginnings’ teachers and staff strive to create and maintain a safe, loving, and supportive environment in which all children at different developmental stages can grow and succeed. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to facilitate all areas of a child’s development. Our teachers implement two curricula- the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum and the Peace-Making Skills for Little Kids curriculum (a character education curriculum). Teachers use research-based, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and provide engaging hands-on experiences. At New Beginnings, we encourage you to review the work that your children bring home and have conversations on what they have learned each day.

At New Beginnings, we implement the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum. OWL is a comprehensive Pre-K curriculum that prepares children for kindergarten with ongoing assessment of research-based success predictors and playful, purposeful, and personalized instruction. OWL is based on the belief that immersion in a learning rich pre-K environment is critical but not sufficient. Also, the environment and interactions must be thoughtful and purposeful. At New Beginnings, we believe that all parts of the day should be considered opportunities for learning, and the teacher should know the curriculum content, instructional strategies, and the individual child well enough to be responsive in a variety of situations. Our Peace-making Skills for Little Kids curriculum plants the seeds of peace and conflict resolution skills. Through a series of activities, games, and songs, children learn I-Care Rules and important values and skills, such as listening, cooperating, and sharing... skills which become part of everything they do in the classroom.
